:- Another film from the Mad horror universe, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the main villain, brings a new, supernatural character to the audience. Let’s talk about this vampire-based movie. Look at the way the Mad makers are taking this horror comedy universe forward, the way they’re merging it with their previous films. All these movies are becoming naturally connected, and you’ll notice that the makers of “Stree Wolf Munja” have connected it the most smoothly. So, hats off to Dinesh Vijan’s vision, because at my screening, the first thing they showed was the promo for Shakti Shalini, their upcoming film in the MCU, starring Anil Padda. So, they seem fully prepared to take this universe to the next level. By the way, let me know in the comments whether you saw the Shakti Shalini promo in your theater. Now, let’s talk about the movie. So, basically, the story revolves around Alok, played by Ayushmann Khurrana, who one day goes into a dense forest for some kind of adventure. He is then attacked by a bear, but is saved by Tadka, played by Rashmika Mandanna. And what happens next is who Tadka is? What community does she belong to?
What is Raktabeej and Betaal, etc., you will see that in the movie. Now, if I talk about the first half, then the entire first half creates a kind of setup as to what is the ending? Vampires, Betaal, Yakshasan, Alok’s life, Tadka’s entry in his life, etc. And all the visuals shown in this first half, including that bear scene, that different world of Betaal, was quite good. I was a little skeptical after watching the trailer, thinking that the VFX and CGI would be a bit off here and there. But no, brother, they pulled it really hard. It is made very well. Many scenes, backgrounds, their clan, etc. look good on the big screen. All the actors have done their work well. Especially Paresh Rawal and Nawaz’s acting looks fresh after a long time.
His comic timing hooks you. But I think the way Nawaz has portrayed his character, I was expecting a bigger role. Maybe this powerful role of his will be utilized later, because don’t miss the credits scene. Well, yes, it’s impossible to have a MA CU without cameos. We already saw a glimpse of the wolf in the trailer. And if you watch Hollywood movies a lot, you’ll know how strong the rivalry between werewolves and vampires has always been. So, that’s set up here. How exactly, you’ll have to see in the movie. But the end credits scene also sets up future movies from the villains’ perspective.
And for those who were saying or rumoring that Shakti Shalini would have a credits scene, no, with this movie you’ll only get to see a teaser, that too with the title card, at the beginning of the movie. I guess it might have already been uploaded to YouTube. Now, if you had high expectations from the movie, then like Stree or Stree Part 2, you might find the comedy in this movie a little less than that level. I mean, it’s comedy, but it works in some places.
It falls a bit flat in some places, especially for the jump scares. They definitely work. But the new world that has been created, the way the perspective of vampires has been changed for the Indian audience, and the way it has been presented with a different perspective, definitely deserves to be mentioned. Ayushmann looked really cool as a vampire, brother. The other two or three songs are also good. The BGM just doesn’t gel with the movie. So overall, it’s a good, decent MCU film that definitely does its job of entertainment.
